This is a general
term for surgery and other physical interventions upon
the skin. In some respects it can encompass all of the
other treatments performed by Cosmetic Physicians plus
direct scalpel surgery. In this context it is used for
the latter.
Scalpel surgery for cosmetic purposes
includes a great many procedures. Removal of skin blemishes
is often done best by scalpel surgery.When done with
special attention to the ultimate appearance (cosmesis)
a nice result can often be obtained. It is important
that blemishes that are removed be tested at the laboratory
to make sure they are safe.
Sometimes it is very obvious that a
blemish is safe but often even your doctor cannot be
certain and then the lab test will be done. |
